The
Plimsoll Club is New Orleans' premier banquet and dining facility. Named
for Samuel Plimsoll (1824 - 1898), originator
of the Plimsoll Mark, the
Plimsoll Club offers an atmosphere conducive to business or pure pleasure
featuring elegant surroundings, impeccable cuisine and flawless service.
As an integral part of the World Trade Center of New Orleans, the Club
offers an incomparable location for
entertaining, one that has been enjoyed by heads of state and dignitaries
from around the world.
Our view of the Mississippi River and
the city from the 30th floor is simply breathtaking. Our continental chefs
deliver a delectable blend of famed New Orleans delicacies and their own
classic specialties with outstanding results. Our main lounge and private
dining rooms, each distinctively appointed, offer stunning settings for
impressive banquet events.
Furnishings and embellishments imported from throughout the world are
abundant in the Plimsoll Club. The exquisite Versailles room is
highlighted by nine dazzling chandeliers with metalwork commissioned in
France. The crystal prisms are from a Rhine castle in Germany. The marble
columns are from Milan, Italy, with gold-leaf work produced in France.
The massive stone mantle is from England. Gracing the wall behind the main bar is a 15th century tapestry from
Belgium entitled "The Shipbuilders." Two magnificent paintings with the
titles "Toledo" and "El Escorial" are by the famed Spanish painter Agustėn
Hernandez.
